Former BEC Recordings rock band Falling Up has been working on two new projects for the past year and now they're asking for fan support via Kickstarter to get CD copies of the albums Hours and Midnight On Earthship printed up. As opposed to most ambitious Kickstarter campaigns, Falling Up is only asking for the humble $2,000 needed to print the projects, and they're already halfway there. However, the band hopes to raise more in order to have new band photos taken, a new song added, and finally, a music video produced. Check out their Kickstarter page for more info, and read their announcement below (Funding ends May 20th)...
Raising funds for the production of our two newest albums in physical forms. Extensive artwork and liner notes included! Why
Printing physical copies of albums can become costly. So we are raising a little extra money to make sure the artwork on both projects represents our vision and artistic integrity with the Machine De Ella project and we are able to print as many physical copies in demand. We want both Hours and Midnight On Earthship to be a cool addition to your album collections - complete with quality packaging, full color art, liner notes and lyrics. Now this might seem a little odd to those of you who already purchased the digital albums and became members of the Machine De Ella Project community. But we assure you, if you are a part of that group that has already invested in this project - we honor you! First of all, thank you so much for supporting us and taking a chance with this risk-taking adventure we went on this past winter - your support kept us alive and fed while we accomplished it! Secondly, a discount on the physical albums will be given to you! All of the members signed up prior to April 28, 2013 will be emailed a promo code for a nice discount on the physical albums upon their release in June!
* If you are already a Machine De Ella Project member, but would like to participate in this Kickstarter for the tier of receiving the map/character drawing + plus soundtrack mp3s for $5, you will still have a better value if you wait for the discount to get the physical albums. (Meaning, we'd recommend doing that $5 tier rather than the $25 tier). Because your total cost, if you were to participate in the $5 tier and purchase both Hours and MoE albums with your discount, would be approx $21, whereas the tier designed to receive all of those within this Kickstarter is $26. Just some numbers we wanted to crunch in the best interest of our fans!
But for those who aren't Machine De Ella Project members, the highest tier, in which you receive both physical albums plus bonus material is still at a great deal!
Yet whether you are a member already or not, check out the goal levels below - we are pretty excited about the potential for some of these!
Aiming Higher
$2,500 or more NEW BAND PHOTOS!
- We realize it's been far too long since we've had some snazzy looking band photos!$3,000 or more BONUS HOURS SONG!
- Excited about one additional song that has already been written, making some interesting new connections between the story of Hours and Fangs! The funds would go to recording and mastering it.$5,000 or more MUSIC VIDEO OF AN HOURS SONG!
- It has also been far too long since we've released a music video. Very excited about the potential of the visual and conceptual elements, being that it will correlate with the concept of Hours!
